Sales Position – Residential

This is a full-time position in our residential department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Outside sales to run company supplied leads. Sales in residential roofing, siding, windows, and doors.

  • Effectively manage appointment schedule to ensure all leads are met on-time and coordinate changes as necessary in response to opportunities to streamline schedule for time and geographic efficiency, inclement weather, priority changes, traffic, and other factors.
  • Maintain excellent communication with customers regarding appointments. Timely responses to phone calls, emails, and delivery of literature, samples and competitive proposals are expected.
  • Work on company-generated and self-generated leads, in addition to canvassing neighborhoods where projects are underway. Networking with builders and joining network groups are encouraged.
  • Use internal CRM software and process.
  • Compile material lists and labor orders, as well as provide crew instructions and supporting documentation, such as job photos, to project scheduling administrator.
  • Attend all company-sponsored sales training, product training seminars, and classes.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

Proficient knowledge of roof installations is required. Shanco installs GAF products. Experience with GAF’s Gold Warranty Pledge installations is preferred.

  • Must be a licensed Maryland Home Improvement Commission Salesman with 5 years of experience.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be detail-orientated and well-organized.
  • Must have excellent computer proficiency (MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook and/or Google Business Suite, and Customer Relationship Management software).
  • Roofing certifications preferred.
  • Experience with insurance claim process a plus.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Must be able to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of given instructions, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • High school diploma or GED required. ​Associate’s degree preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to drive a vehicle, climb ladders, walk roofs, perform leak investigations and other services to determine scope of work.
  • Must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Must be able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone.

Roofing Project Manager – Residential

This is a full-time position in our residential department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Roofing project managers are responsible for controlling every stage of roofing installations or repairs to residential and commercial properties. They aim to complete projects according to high-quality standards, on time and with minimal impact on the site, while ensuring that roofing teams work safely.

  • Be responsible for project orientation/startup.
  • Ensure all necessary materials and equipment are on the job site daily.
  • Be responsible for inventorying all materials on the job.
  • Work directly with residential sales staff, as well as the scheduling coordinator.
  • Manage each job to reach completion within the specified schedule and budget.
  • Ensure work is performed correctly and completely as per contract and specifications.
  • Help maintain a clean job site and assist crews as needed.
  • Be responsible for communicating all relevant information via the CRM application, such as daily job progress, communications with all involved employees, change orders/extras with the salesman and the customer, problems, punch list, customer feedback, returned materials, and job completion report.
  • Be responsible for communicating all relevant information via the photo job record applications, such as pictures of the roof and all features, any wood in need of replacement, daily job progress, and completion results.
  • Assist with any warranty inspections/repairs as needed.
  • At job completion, schedule a walk around with the customer and collect final payment. Provide the customer with the “Completion Certificate.”
  • Return excess materials promptly and document.
  • Attend all required training sessions for material or software applications.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
